On April 8, 2024, Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup paid a courtesy call on H.E. CHO Tae-yul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. 

Minister CHO welcomed the TCS delegation and acknowledged the significance of the TCS’ role in promoting trilateral cooperation. Speaking highly of TCS’ endeavors in various fields, he especially emphasized the importance of the next generation and youth exchange. Minister CHO encouraged the TCS to visualize the future of trilateral cooperation in the next three decades and strategically carry out initiatives aimed at its realization. He also extended the ROK government’s unwavering support and assistance for trilateral cooperation and the TCS. 

SG LEE extended heartfelt congratulations to Minister on his inauguration and expressed deep appreciation for Minister CHO’s warm welcome and acknowledgement of the TCS. He commended the proactive and outstanding leadership of the government of the ROK as the chair in facilitating the resumption of the Trilateral Summit and advancing trilateral cooperation efforts. In light of the 25th anniversary of trilateral cooperation in 2024, SG LEE reaffirmed the TCS’ unwavering commitment to supporting the joint efforts of the three governments in revitalizing trilateral cooperation, particularly in tandem with the forthcoming Trilateral Summit.
