Promoting peace and co-prosperity among
China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea
Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat

January 19, 2021

Happy new year to all. Thank you for your unwavering support of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat.

With the onset of the COVID19 pandemic, 2020 had been a challenging and turbulent year that tested the world’s resilience, will, and creativity. From daily social activities to the global economy, no one was free from the impact of the pandemic. As an intergovernmental organization, we at TCS were also
forced to either stop or postpone many of our yearly projects.

Yet despite physical hardships, TCS organized webinars on China-Japan-Korea COVID19 responses and smart cities. While the influence of the pandemic is expected to linger on for some time, TCS is resolute in its commitment to strengthen the trilateral cooperation.

Most importantly, 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of TCS. In celebration of this milestone, we are planning a series of events that reflect upon our achievements over the past ten years. These events will also provide opportunities to glean lessons for the future. Further updates on our anniversary projects will be forthcoming.

Here, I have the distinct honour of presenting to you our new logo for the year 2021. With this new look, TCS stands ready to amplify the momentum for cooperation and overcome the difficulties ahead. And for this journey, I am certain that your support and interest will be key.

Blessings to you and yours. I wish you all a healthy and fruitful year filled with many moments of joy and success.

TCS Secretary-General, MICHIGAMI Hisashi
