Mechanisms Working-level Consultation Meeting for the 4th Trilateral Ministerial Meeting on Water Resources

On January 30th, 2024, the 1st Consultative Meeting for the 4th Trilateral Ministerial Meeting on Water Resources was held in an online format. Delegations from the Ministry of Water Resources of China, Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea, and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, and the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) attended the meeting. The meeting was held to prepare the upcoming Ministerial Meeting which will be held in May, 2024.
Director KIM Hyoseon from Department of Economic Affairs delivered opening remarks, introducing the history of trilateral cooperation and the important role of water resource cooperation in the trilateral mechanism.
The three ministries’ officials discussed the contents of the Joint Statement and discussed the potential agenda for the ministers’ meeting. In addition, the delegates explored future cooperation projects that could facilitate trilateral cooperation in the area of water resource management.
