On October 25, 2023, Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup, Deputy Secretary-General ZUSHI Shuji and YAN Liang (collectively as the “7th Consultative Board”) of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) paid a visit to Mr. SHI Zhongjun, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) in Beijing.
Secretary-General LEE of the TCS shared the progress of the Trilateral Cooperation, highlighting that the Trilateral Cooperation has been re-gaining its momentum since the countries have recovered from the pandemic. Speaking highly of the bridging role played by ACC, he expressed hope to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations and explore opportunities for mutual support and participation in each other’s programs, further contributing to ASEAN Plus Three (APT) cooperation.
Secretary-General SHI of the ACC extended congratulations to the 7th TCS Consultative Board on their assumption of office, acknowledging TCS's role in promoting trilateral exchanges and cooperation in the region and beyond under the framework of APT. He introduced ACC’s functions and ongoing efforts to enhance China-ASEAN cooperation in various areas, including trade and investment, culture, tourism, and youth exchange. He also briefed on the interaction and collaboration among ACC, ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC), and ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC). Stressing the promising prospect between ACC and TCS, he reiterated ACC's commitment to expanding cooperation with TCS to jointly promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
