Mechanisms 1st Trilateral DG Level Meeting on Forestry Cooperation 2014.01.17
The 1st Trilateral Director General Level Meeting on Forestry Cooperation was held on January 17th, 2014 in Beijing, China. The Deputy Secretary-General CHEN Feng delivered a speech at the opening session. He introduced the trilateral cooperation and emphasized the importance of trilateral forestry cooperation, affirming that the TCS stands ready to support cooperation among the three forestry management authorities. 


During the meeting, the State Forestry Administration of China, the Forest Service of the Republic of Korea (ROK), and the Forestry Agency of Japan discussed forestry status quo and policies in the three countries; sustainable forest management; combatting land degradation and desertification; and future cooperative mechanism among the three countries. The three parties agreed to hold regular DG level meetings on a yearly basis. The 2nd meeting will be held in ROK in 2015.
