Mechanisms Participation at the Director Generals Meeting for TEMM24

On September 26th, 2023, Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) delegation headed by Director KIM Hyoseon participated in the TEMM24 Director General Meeting in Nagoya, Japan. As a follow-up of the Pre-TEMM Meeting in August, Director General level officials of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea joined together to discuss the preparation of the upcoming Ministers Meeting. At the meeting, detailed arrangements of TEMM24 and Action Plans were reviewed by Director Generals of the three countries. In addition, two TEMM working groups on Dust and Sandstorms (DSS WG I, WG II) delivered presentations on their joint research outcomes.
Director KIM delivered opening and closing remarks, where she stressed that environmental issues are regional, global efforts that we need to address together. She also introduced TCS’ major environment related projects and closed the meeting by expressing her gratitude to the three countries and promising continued support from TCS.
Prior to the DG Meeting, a working level meeting was held on the 25th, where TCS also participated as an observer. At the meeting, ministry officials actively exchanged ideas and feedback regarding the preparations of TEMM24.
The 24th Tripartite EnvironmentMinistersMeeting will be held on November 4th at Nagoya, Japan.
