TC Activities TCS held the 3rd Trilateral Environmental Teachers’ Exchange Program 2023.08.14 ~ 2023.08.19

On August 14-19, 2023, the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) and China Center for Environmental Education & Communication (CEEC, MEE) co-hosted the 3rd Trilateral Environmental Teachers’ Exchange Program (TTEP) in Beijing and Ordos, Inner Mongolia. 

On August 16, 2023, TCS Secretary-General OU Boqian led the delegation of 3rd TTEP to visit Ordos, Inner Mongolia, as the second stop of the program. The delegation met with Mr. JIANG Bo, Ordos Vice Mayor. The two sides exchanged views on further promoting environmental exchanges and cooperation in various fields. 

SG OU expressed gratitude to Mr. JIANG for Ordos’ great support to the TTEP. She stressed that Ordos has its own successful experience in environmental protection, which is a global model for desertification control and green development. TCS will continue to develop the exchange platform among China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea in order to deepen mutual exchange and understanding in environmental education, and to raise public awareness about environmental protection. 

Mr. JIANG, on behalf of the Ordos Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, welcomed SG OU and TTEP delegation. He briefly introduced the economic and environmental development of Ordos and emphasized the successful collaborative practices in sand control and desertification management that Ordos has had with Japan and ROK. Mr. JIANG expressed that with the support of TCS, Ordos is willing to further strengthen cooperation with the two countries in various domains. 

In the following three days, participant also had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with environmental stakeholders in Ordos, present teaching plan for Ordos’ environmental protection, and visit the Engebei Ecological Demonstration Zone and Ordos Gulls National Nature Reserve. During these activities, participants gained insights into sand control techniques, wetland conservation practices, and desertification management measures in Ordos. As the international organization mandated to promote lasting peace, common prosperity and shared culture among China, Japan and ROK, TCS will continue its efforts to contribute to raise public awareness on environmental protection among the three countries.
