Others TCS Board Members Paid a Courtesy Visit to Incheon Metropolitan City

On January 20, 2016, TCS Board members paid a courtesy visit to Mr. YOO Jeong-Bok, the mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City. They discussed trilateral local government cooperation and future collaboration between TCS and Incheon City.
Secretary-General YANG Houlan underlined the importance of trilateral cooperation at the local level, noting that the role of local governments was emphasized during the 6th Trilateral Summit. He introduced TCS’ partnerships with local governments developed through participation in CJK Local Government Exchange Conference, the Trilateral Local Government’s Cooperation Meeting, and the China-Northeast Asia Expo. SG Yang thanked Incheon City’s contribution to trilateral cooperation, with special regard to their support for 2015 Trilateral Local Government Exchange Conference on Disaster Reduction held in Incheon co-organized by TCS and UNISDR.
Mayor Mr. Yoo shared Incheon’s experience collaborating with Japan and China under a bilateral format, and expressed wishes to contribute to trilateral cooperation. In this light, Mayor Mr. Yoo mentioned that Incheon will be hosting 2016 China-Japan-Korea Animation Exposition and is considering the development of Japan-Korea and China-Korea bilateral Governor’s Meeting into a trilateral mechanism.
Mayor Mr. Yoo requested TCS’ support in the city’s trilateral cooperation efforts. In response, SG Yang agreed to provide all means of assistance the secretariat can offer, and invited Incheon City to share any specific ideas or advice they might have for TCS.
