On August 19, TCS Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup met with Mr. Eduardo Pedrosa, Executive Director of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat, in Singapore.
TCS Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup expressed his interest in exploring potential collaboration with APEC Secretariat. He noted that the three governments are making their utmost efforts to ensure the successful hosting of the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the ROK this October, followed by China in the next year. He further emphasized the importance of support from the APEC Secretariat and expressed desire to forge partnership between TCS and APEC Secretariat.
APEC Executive Director, Mr. Eduardo Pedrosa emphasized the importance of first developing a mutual understanding of each organization’s roles and objectives, and of identifying specific areas and methods for meaningful cooperation. He suggested initiating small-scale joint efforts including working groups as a practical approach to gradually expanding collaboration.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for both sides to exchange views on potential economic cooperation. They agreed to maintain close communication and to explore cooperation opportunities moving forward.
