On November 19, 2025, Secretary-General of TCS LEE Hee-sup met with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs Deputy Director-General Nguyen Tran Bao Chau.
LEE Hee-sup underscored Vietnam’s strategic role as an ASEAN member and its historical and cultural ties with China, Japan, and Korea, highlighting its position as a bridge for regional cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. He noted ongoing challenges in ASEAN+3 collaboration and reaffirmed TCS’s commitment to expanding “Trilateral Plus X” initiatives, including youth programs and academic exchanges involving ASEAN participants.
Nguyen Tran Bao Chau emphasized the importance of China, Japan, and Korea as Vietnam’s key trade partners and Ho Chi Minh City’s active collaboration with local governments of the three countries through sister and friendly city networks. He reaffirmed Ho Chi Minh City’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with TCS, expressing hopes to explore further exchanges in youth, culture, and economic development.
