On October 24, Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) YAN Liang of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) attended the 2025 Korea-China Economic Development Forum (IEFS-EAER-APAEM Conference) held at Jeju Halla University, Republic of Korea.

The forum was co-organized by the Korean Economic Vision Network, Korean Economic Association, Peking University, Cheju Halla University, Korea Development Institute (KDI), Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET), Asia-Pacific Association of Economics and Management, Kyonggi University, Zhengzhou Business University, Zhejiang Shuren University, Kookmin University Center for Interdisciplinary Research on China, and the Journal of Digital Intelligence and Economic Growth (JDIEG).

In his remarks, DSG Yan highlighted TCS’s active engagement with the forum since its inception and noted its remarkable growth in both scale and depth. He underscored that, following the Trilateral Economic Ministers’ Meeting, the three countries reaffirmed their commitment to practical cooperation, accelerating discussions on the Trilateral FTA, and enhancing collaboration in areas such as WTO reform, supply chain resilience, and the green and digital economies. He also introduced the Trilateral Economic Report (TER), jointly prepared by experts from the three countries and the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), which was recognized in the ministers’ statement as a key foundation for data-driven cooperation.

The forum was also attended by Mr. KIM Soyoung, Representative of the Korean Economic Vision Network, Mr. DONG Zhiyong, Vice President of Peking University, and Mr. LEE Keun, President of the Korean Economic Association (KEA). Professors and scholars from numerous universities across China, Korea, and Japan participated in the discussions, which centered on China-Korea economic cooperation and the broader theme of “Restructuring the Global Economic Order: Challenges and Opportunities for the Asia-Pacific.” The participants exchanged insights on regional economic resilience, digital transformation, and pathways for sustainable and inclusive growth within the Asia-Pacific region.
