On November 8, Secretary-General Mr. Iwatani Shigeo paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Park Won-soon, Mayor of Seoul City, and agreed to reinforce their partnership to foster trilateral cooperation.
Secretary-General Iwatani and Mayor Park expressed their hopes that the trilateral cooperation can be strengthened by restoring BESETO (Beijing-Seoul-Tokyo) friendship relationship and expanding it to various areas of cooperation. They particularly emphasized on promoting local-to-local and people-to-people exchanges on which they can build sustainable cooperation, regardless of the nation-to-nation relationship.
Mayor Park reaffirmed that Seoul City Government is ready to promote cooperative exchanges with cities of Japan and China, and asked for continuous support from TCS. Secretary-General Iwatani also showed active supports for the future cooperation on various city-to-city exchanges.
